WHERE WE WORK
In 16 sub-districts of Nepal and 90 villages of Bangladesh, the project works with adolescent girls and boys, parents, community and religious leaders, and nationally with networks of social activists, experts, and government agencies. These areas are both geographically and economically isolated from other regions. Both countries have very high rates of child marriage; we are working in particularly vulnerable pockets of each country with specifically high rates of child marriage.
In Bangladesh, we are working in the Northeast haor areas in the Sunamganj district – these are wetlands that are flooded for a large portion of the year. Most villages in which we work are moderately to highly remote.
In Nepal, we are working in the Kapilvastu and Rupandehi Districts of the Terai region which borders India.
